FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Here
for the answers to a few of the typical questions we have been asked
and that you may have thought of.
Q:
Do I need to be sober now in order to get into your program?
A:
Yes. Although everybody will go through a recovery program phase,
which may include an initial period of about 30 days for your bodily
systems to detoxify naturally, ALL’S WELL HOME is not a
detoxification facility.
Q:
Is there a lockdown period, and if so, how long will it be before I
can send or receive mail and before I can make telephone calls?
A:
No. There is no “lockdown” period. However, beginning from the
time when you first enter the home we will take steps to protect you
including revealing your location from anyone who we believe is not a
benefit for your recovery / rehabilitation. You will go through a 30
day probationary period. During this time there are certain special
rules and conditions that we expect you to comply with. All of these
special rules will be explained to you in detail when you call us and
we conduct our phone interview. During this period we will also be
evaluating your placement in the home and determining whether you are
the kind of person who will fit into the home on a long term basis.
Q:
I don’t have a lot of money right now. Is there any way that I can
still get into your program?
A:
There are several options available and we’ll explain them to you
when you contact us.
Q:
What kind of Sober Living programs do you offer?
A:
We offer two Sober Living programs, 12 Step and 12 Step Faith Based. The
program you participate in is your choice. Both programs are
approximately six (6) months to one (1) year in length. In addition
to the meetings you will attend and the things you will study and
learn, both programs include special concentration on developing and
building social skills to help you live a successful life outside of
the home when you exit.
Our
objective is to prepare all of our guests to be able to re-enter
society with the skills and confidence to know that they will be able
to maintain a sober, drug free life on their own.
Q:
How do your programs work?
A:
The ALL’S WELL HOME programs are based on the 12 Step and
12 Step Faith Based programs, but there are differences between the
way we offer them and what you might expect elsewhere. Let’s look
at one example.
Over
the course of the first few days, immediately after you enter the
home, we will conduct a series of interviews about you as a person.
The information we gather will help us know more about you, but more
importantly to you, our interviews are designed to help you get to
you to know more about yourself. The information and facts that you
provide will be used by you and your councilor to help you set very
identifiable and positive goals that you will concentrate on
achieving while you are with us as a guest. Although the first goals
you set may seem to be small, as you grow and become more confident
we will help you work toward reaching your bigger goals.
Q:
Can I continue to work / go to school while I’m in the program?
A:
In most cases, yes. ALL’S WELL HOME is a working home and
everyone is expected to continue to be as productive as they possibly
can. Developing a sense of self-worth that’s achieved through your
own accomplishments is an important part of your rehabilitation. So,
we don’t want you to have to drop out of school or quit your job
simply so you can participate in the program.
Q:
Do you have a waiting list?
A:
Every applicant is evaluated by our committee on an individual
basis. Among other factors, we give priority to urgency, space
availability, and your readiness. In some cases a person may call,
go through the phone interview, and even complete the entire
admission process but not be personally ready to actually enter the
home. That’s OK. We’ll wait and hold a spot for you near the
top of the list. We want you to be ready to commit to the program
when you do enter.
Q:
Do you have overnight passes?
A:
Under certain conditions overnight passes are possible.
