Applying Our Resources to Your Recovery

Recovery is a process of goal achievement, very much like climbing a ladder, and each step is a new goal, another step closer to recovery. Our program will help you to see the real problem or problems you are dealing with so you can rebuild your life. Our goal is to help you change your life, not simply your life-style. We will help you learn how to develop your own goals.

If your goal is to finish your high school education or pass your GED test, we’ll make sure that you have a chance to work on your academic education and provide you with training materials to prepare for your test. Some of our guests have taken on-line college classes to finish their degree.

Our Learning Center is a full classroom where you will learn life and social skills. You will also learn time management, how to handle your finances, computer and job skills, how to write a resume, and how to search for a job. We will give you tips on what to say, questions to ask, and what to wear to a job interview. We’re going to help you become prepared to confidently deal with life’s challenges.

All we ask of you is to be honest about what you want out of life. Ask yourself; what do you need to change in order to get there, but when you answer that question, think about where and how you’re going to get the knowledge and personal strength do all of that. Do you have any idea of where to start?

But I’ve got issues….

All’s Well Home works closely with a number of states, and with state and county agencies, including parole and probation, and with the courts. We write letters for our guests, and, if necessary, can even appear in court with them.

We do not provide or offer legal representation for guest, but we have a list of attorneys, some of which offer free consultation and low cost services. Guests are free to contact an attorney of their choice.

We do accept guests who take medications. It is up to them to take their medications on time, and only in the amount prescribed. In order to protect their medications, we provide them with secure lockers for their use.

If you need to see a doctor, we have a list of low cost (and sometimes free) doctors, medical clinics, and dentists. If you do not already have medical insurance we will help you get MSI or Medi-Cal if you qualify.

One of the most important things for our guests who can work is finding a job, so we have a list of employment referrals and job agencies. Many of these are known to be “felony friendly”. Also, we do receive referrals and information about job openings from private sources and the State Employment Development Department.

Failure is an opportunity to begin again… but this time by being a little wiser.
